Here is another great classic, a 1967 Chevrolet Impala SS, brought to you by Basil Classics. The Basil family has provided excellence in automotive sales and service to the western New York area since 1951. Many of these vehicles are on display in our new temperature-controlled showroom at 5077 Transit Road for you to review. Please make a point of stopping in when in the area, you will be very happy that you did.
The Chevrolet Impala debuted in 1958 and was intended to be a step above the Bel Air in the full size Chevrolet line. Available with many comfort options, it could be ordered with the 348ci engine topped with three two barrel carburetors also new for 1958. The Impala was an instant success and in keeping with market demands, the Impala SS model was added in 1961. Providing a sportier look, the SS model had additional trim, sportier hub caps, bucket seats and available floor shift with a console and upgraded instruments to include a tachometer. By 1965, the Impala and Impala SS were available with a big block 396ci engine which expanded to 427 and 454ci versions in later years. The body was given a swept back roofline just shy of a fastback which carried over through the 1968 model year.
This 1967 Impala SS has Maya gold metallic paint with a black vinyl top and a matching gold interior. The body is very solid and has had one complete repaint. Factory equipment includes front running lights, rally wheels, stainless rocker moldings, wheel opening moldings and a rear mounted antenna. The bumpers, grill and chrome trim are in remarkable condition paying complement to the overall appeal of this beautiful classic.
This Impala SS which spent a good portion of its life in Pennsylvania, is lightly optioned with a 275hp, 327ci V8 engine, power steering and an automatic powerglide transmission with a single exhaust system.
Taking a look inside, the gold bucket seat interior is in near flawless condition. Color matched carpeting, door panels and dash are all in remarkable condition appearing nearly new throughout. A three spoke SS steering wheel and center console show well as does the instrument panel. An AM/FM cassette upgraded unit replaces the original radio.
Cleanliness and originality carries through to the trunk area with a trunk mat, bumper jack and spare tire all in place.
Viewing this classic Impala is an instant trip down memory lane. Its overall condition instantly draws your attention and takes you back to that blast from the past. Will this Chevy take you down memory lane? We think it will.
