With names like Comet, Meteor, Falcon, Thunderbird, the name “Galaxie” was a perfect fit for the full size car. The Galaxie was produced from 1959 to 1974. The total production for the 500, including 4 door and 6cyl models, was 404,600. The Galaxie 500 was the top trim package you could order in 1962, which included more chrome on rocker panel moldings, quarter panel moldings, and A pillar moldings. The 1962 is noted as being one of the cleaner designs to come from Dearborn.

The car runs and shifts as it should and holds the road well. Highlights include Edelbrock carburetor, Accel coil, continental kit, power steering, AM radio, 14 inch steel wheels with Dayton whitewall tires, clock and chrome air cleaner/valve covers. The red paint shows well and the chrome is in overall good condition. The interior is neat and tidy and has been restored at some point.
