Run Day - Friday December 6, 2024
This 1965 Pontiac GTO was built at the Fremont, California plant, sold at Wayne Pontiac Inc. in San Francisco, and remained in Northern California for 40 years plus. This car was born with a 4-barrel 389 and a Muncie 4-speed manual transmission, but soon after it was purchased it was upfitted with a tri-power system. The Rochester carburetors were rebuilt during the restoration in the early 2000s by the Old Carb Doctor. The entire numbers-matching engine was rebuilt by Pontiac guru, Greg Merrick. As part of the restoration, the exterior was resprayed in a high quality, two stage, factory-correct Montero Red. The interior features black vinyl bucket seats with console, and other verifiable factory options (from a copy of the window sticker) are as follows: deluxe steering wheel, dual horns, dual exhaust with extension tips, push-button radio, padded dash, WonderTouch power steering, tachometer and rally gauges, Soft-Ray front windshield, driver-side rear view mirror, positive crankcase vent, custom retractable seat belts, and more. This car has been in a prominent East Coast collection for the past 12 years, and will be a fantastic addition to any Pontiac enthusiast's collection!
